C20H25N3O dream-PEACE ON EARTH

i was in the center of the dancefloor, enjoying the beautiful sounds of the music, when i saw a blue/green light in the sky, i looked at it and examined it and noticed how the sphere of light was getting closer to us, no one else seemed to notice, i saw closely as the sphere approached, curiously i walked to it, i had realized that no one else was bothered by this incredible sight. i got closer to the sphere , it had now landed near a tree and the light was no longer visible, i saw how the the round object opened from the top in four equal triangles and gently set down on the ground. inside was another sphere that had a door, (it opened like the sensor glass doors we see on the market store) only that this was what seemed to be metal. i stood and saw how a creature about 5'5 with an oval head and little body and long arms came out and just stared at me. for long it had been my dream that an extra terrestial being would someday come and take me with them, to learn what us the human race dont know.
i went closer to the sphere and the creature now moved aside as if inviting me in, i walked in.
i was expecting to find many colorful gadgets,buttons, and maybe an experiment table, but only that this was different, the inside was all white, no windows, with the exception of some gadgets that seemed to be what controlled the sphere because when i got in another creature pressed sometihng and the doors shut and i felt how the four sides of the sphere were now closing to make the original shape. i felt a sudden burst and i felt like as if i were in an elevator ride, only that this was faster and i felt alot of turbulence, a digital numbering appeared, it read 186,000, was it that we were traveling at the speed of light?, i was frightened, i closed my eyes and hoped for the best, it was obvious that the sphere was taking off.
a couple seconds later i opened my eyes to an astonishing view, the sphere was now crystal clear and in front of me was what seemed to be planet earth, the view was beautiful, i saw our wonderfull planet, its wonderous seas, i could seet the shape of our continents. i looked at the creature, he too was looking at the planet,with no expression.he alomst looked pale, he had a different look than i first saw him up close.
then suddenly telviosion images started to appear, one by one, shocking and disturbing, many more appeared, out of nowhere, videos of what seemed to portray war,diseases,explosion,gun blasts,children runing,people with frightened and fear expression,blood,sufferin,in some there where the images of those who claim to rule our planet and have caused much pain,leaders of countries that share this view that the planet is theirs and have to hurt people to gain not only a political status but to gain territory, leader past and present. images you see on your daily news televions...
i stood looking at these images and then i felt the sudden emotion of anger,sadness,fear,disgust,horror,regret,GUILT, all wrapped into a single feeling, nothing i have ever before experienced.
all stopped and the image of earth re-apeared, only it had a pulse, and the rate of the pulse would beat twice as fast every time, a cloud with the shape of a mushroom appeared, it seemed to be that of a bomb, then another appeared in another continent, then several more, what i was seeing was maybe that of a nuclear war, i could feel the pain and agony and screams and cries.....
i saw how human beings brought our planet to destrction.......

i turned to the the creature and he turned to me, when then, he brought out his hand and and a single flower to grow, he stretched out his hand and as if he were placing the flower over earth. the now destructed earth started to revive, many more flowers started to grow, and oceans and and land started to reapear, i had never noticed how fragile our planet is....

it seemed that these creatures werent here to show me the wonders of space, but of something we have here on earth, LOVE.

i tried to express my gratitude for this creature, i had so many things to ask him, but before i could do any of this i was back to where i was.

Ephemeral Mists is the newest side project by composer Brett Branning (The synthetic dream foundation & Abandoned Toys). The debut album, "Moon Ritual" is out now on Mythical records.

The sound of the project is best described as downtempo ambient electronics mixed with ethnic world musics in the vein of "Karma" era Delerium, Amethystium, and Dead Can Dance. Its really a very intoxicatingly beautiful creation and I highly recommend it to anyone into ambient music styles.

In 1993, San Francisco's Daum Bentley released his first 12" EP, "Halucifuge," on the seminal west coast underground label Exist Dance Records, choosing the moniker of "Freaky Chakra."

As one of the first artists to sign with the Astralwerks label, Bentley released his debut album, 1995's "Lowdown Motivator." His innovative sound and abandonment of traditional West Coast influence earned him critical acclaim, and was exemplified in the album tracks "Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven" (with Curve vocalist Toni Halliday) and "Peace Fixation."

In 1996, Bentley joined forces with electro/experimental phenom Single Cell Orchestra (aka Miguel Fierro), and together they became one of the most sought-after live techno PAs in the USA, rocking some of the biggest club events and warehouse parties across the country. Shortly after, Astralwerks released "Freaky Chakra vs. Single Cell Orchestra," which became a classic, "must have" album for any electronic music lover.

With the release of "Blacklight Fantasy" in 1998, Freaky Chakra continued to explore the vast electro-space of musical possibilities. This album spouts a darker, more experimental electro and techno-house vibe. Tracks from Blacklight Fantasy were played on turntables world-wide by DJs ranging from Sasha and Richie Hawtin to John Howard and DJ Solar.

Bentley has worked on recording projects with respected artists such as Meat Beat Manifesto's Jack Dangers and John Selway, and has also created remixes for Dubtribe, Cornershop, Charles Webster, Rabbit in the Moon, and many others. Throughout the years, the Freaky Chakra live PA has been featured all over the U.S. and in Canada, Puerto Rico, and Australia.

Recent releases include an EP for Mark Ambrose's Crayon label and remixes for Whoop! Recordings, Iron box, Hallucination Records, Alexi Delano, Hawke, Rabbit in the Moon, and Deepsky. The fourth and most recent full-length album, "Moonroof Operator," was released on Run Recordings in 2003.

Directions to Hog Ridge Hollow

From I-540 take the 6th street exit (#62) EAST twords fayetteville until it turns to highway 16. stay on 16 east through elkins and durham (and be careful these are small towns with bored police officers, so dont go bumping your music, speeding, etc, just keep your wits about you and your fine) once you reach durham keep your eyes peeled on the right for hog ridge hollow its a gravel road going up a steep hill right past the cemetary. there will be a sign but its easy to miss so pay attention. turn right at the sign then go down the road staying left at both forks. look for the gate approx 1.5 miles from the road. follow the dugga dugga dugga after that = ]

no glass containers, pets, drugs, fireworks, weapons of mass destruction, etc etc

water and some food will be vended but bring everything else you need to camp out under the stars. the weather in the wee mornin can get chilly so dont forget warm clothes as well as your summer threads for the hot daylight hours. you all know the drill.

This is part 1 in a series of mixes I will be putting up to introduce you to this magical and inspirational sound that I'm sure some of you would have to remember. As the greater scene and what you believed to be goa, like Infected Mushroom, Yahel and many of those others are now going in more commercial clubby directions, and indeed, have stopped doing everything that was psychedelic about their music, people have been responding to this by banding towards what originally got them into the music, for alot of people its goa, and for a lot of people they are upset as to why this music stopped happening. Or did it? For alot of people it has never really left, and the spirit is always present, albeit its been masked by darkness or covered in commercial cheese. But in response for to this, actually for some time now there has been a movement to bring back the light.

This is the movement I want to show, as its occurred to me that I should not wait for someone else to do it, as I really think no one else will do it - really, that no one else knows or is involved with this music. Goa trance is back in many ways and is the dominant scene in Belgium, France, Portugal, and small pockets of underground scenes across the world, never having left. I really would like to bring that over here too. Thats why I'll be curious to your responses to this mix and the ones comming. If this music strikes a chord with you I'd love to hear about it, let me know.

Each mix will aim to show a different vibe and homogenous story, I really want to emphasize the many stories the goa melody allows, from earthier downtempo to tripadelic night stuff. Perhaps I should've started with lighter stuff, or perhaps you like it that I got to the point, but Leaf and Sky shows an energetic and exotic kind of daytime sound, lots of sunshine and lots of stomping - this edge really is most unique to the goa tracks being put out today in comparison to the darker stuff from 10 years ago. James is one of our favorite psychedelic prog artists and we can't tell you how happy we are to have him come play for everyone. Shadow Fx is known for his smooth blend of deep, funky, psychedelic progressive that is distinctively shaped from the Zenon sound. Them Boyz out there in Australia know to how to throw down some tunes. Zenon is Rocks !! Shadow Fx was created in 2002 by 26 year old James H. from Melbourne, Australia. James started his musical career studying and playing drums and guitar in high school. Then at the age of seventeen he discovered psytrance in and around the famous trance hot spot of Byron Bay. After listening to and Dj'ing the music for several years, he decided to moveto Melbourne and make a serious effort to put his own mark on the scene. He bought a computer and started to produce full time, leading him to the smooth and refined sound for which he is known today. In recent years he has played at many parties all over Australia including RainbowSerpent, Earthdance and Audiogasm. He has also released compilationtracks on ZMA and Zenon, plus on Cosmic Conspiracy records with his brother Tetrameth. In 2007 he released his debut album Direct Influenceon Zenon.

Armando comes straight from Cochabamba Bolivia, where he’s played in many events, hypnotizing people with his progressive grooves since 2000. Armando is one of the co-founders of Moontravelers organization, which has been one of the biggest festival organizers in Bolivia, touring around the country and helping start the engine that pushed the electronic scene in his country. All ready helping establish the rock solid psychedelic foundation in Bolivia, 2005 Armando moved out to California, and helped formed TerraKroma and now he is ready to release his first album on monobeat records along with Andrew (Earth Bag).

It's been two years since Andrew Schiavone (earth bag) tranceplanted himself from the east coast to now out to the west coast in california, where he has been playing live sets and djing since 2002. Armed with a great knowledge of audio engineering and production, he started up Monobeat Records, and now is one of the co-founders of Terrakroma. His music has evolved in many ways spanning time, as the grooves shifted, the progressive world came front in center in his sets.

Gabriel Valda another wonderous import from Bolivia, he's been producing and djing since 2000, playing in numerous festivals and parties including the earthdance. Afterwards he relocated to Boston, and he immediately planted his roots in the scene with live and dj acts. He moved out to the west coast in California, and helped co-found TerraKroma. Gabriel's aural expressivness is distinct, pumpin out phat psychedelic progressive grooves and breaks. Gabriel won't disappoint.

Are there still any old-school trance parties?

Hi Can anyone point me to trance parties? This year I've been to raindance, emergnsee, some santa cruz events, LIB, psytrance, and can't find the good ol trance I have come to love and thrive on. Not trying to dis anybody or argue about what music is what (unless you can help me better identify what I'm looking for - I would call it trance, hard trance, house or NRG) but it seems all the kids these days are listening to glitch, hiphop, rap, and other music i find interesting but not my kind of dance music.

I would like to find like gabriel dresden, space cowboys, vocal melodic epic trance stuff that's regular beat, heavy electronic sounds but also has melody keeping it all together. I can't seem to fins this stuff happening at campouts. I guess the most I ever found was at burning man years ago.

So if anyone can point to somewhere where i can go dance all night under the stars to good old fashioned trance music and then stumble home to my tent, i'd much appreciate it.

I am willing to travel.

Overmind road trip to GEMINI from Arizona

I know it's last minute, but I what better Tribe to find the traveler we're looking for?

This Thursday, several of us in Overmind Works are renting a big passenger van and taking a road trip to Belden Town California for the GEMINI festival this weekend! And we are still looking for 2-3 more trance heads or other psychedelic travelers to join us. Price for a "round trip ticket" will be $125 for anyone in this tribe.

The event will be from 8pm to 4pm at an easily accessible private location in the Mojave desert three hours north of Los Angeles and seven hours south of San Francisco. a trancers new year's resolution: protect your ears

One of my new years resolutions is to suggest to every trancer I know to invest in some good earplugs in orrder to protect our precious ears so we can enjoy our beloved trance music for many years to come. You can find quality, high-fidelity earplugs which protect your ears, but also still allow you to listen to the music without compromising the sound quality. They sound so good you often forget you are wearing them. You could very easily go order them online right now at www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.aspx for about $15 shipped (and no, I am not getting kickbacks for endorsing this company, I just happen to be having a positive experience utilizing their product).

I also think that event planners should be offering cheap, foam earplugs as a courtesy to party goers. Or even if you have to sell them for $1 is a nice gesture to the inexperienced trancer or those who forgot or misplaced their own earplugs. Hell, you could even make a few bucks if you wanted by ordering a batch of the good earplugs and selling them at parties for $20 to people who might be interested in that. I bet you'd have takers.

So, this year and many years into the future, enjoy your parties, dance your ass off, and listen safely to the music that moves you. You'll be grateful you took care of yourself in that way.

A new thing for travelers

Hello from Los Angeles...

I've been hard at work since being run out of Hadrin on a rail three years ago. Well, sometimes. I wrote a book that's now being reviewed by the editing pros (what do you bet they'll think i'm verbose?) and I finally developed the website so many have heard me talk about over the last few years.

What we once called the buyers collective is now online live at www.erinslist.com (yeah, it's named for the head shopper). The idea is simple: the site allows travelers to upload photos of items they find in farflung markets while traveling, making them available to a network of retail clients. If the retailers order an item the traveler can go back into the market and buy it for them. It takes the risk out of shopping, in a way. Take a look if you get a chance.

In addition, each traveler is provided with a blog to share their experiences with both their friends and our retail clients. The blog allow for uploading photos and movies as well as linking to any of the products they've found for sale.

Erinslist is a utility for retail clients, but friends and family are welcome to register and use the site if interested in any of the things we or other travelers find and upload. Even better, if you plan to be traveling please contact me at gary@erinslist.com about using erinslist as a tool. It's free.

Aaron has been a musician all his life and began writing tracks as oCeLoT five years ago with his first album "Aural Sects" in 2002 followed by "VectorSelector" in 2005. After many months in Europe he returns with exciting new material that pulls you into its ever evolving flow of high energy twisted psytrance.

PARUS (Auraquake - San Francisco)

Brothers Mark and Valentin have been musicians since their childhoods in Latvia and formed the Parus project together in 2000. They released three tracks last year on the Auraquake compliation Sesmic Mood and continue to gain recognition through many excellent performances like the one they're sure to give us.

KONFLUX (Psytribe - Los Angeles)

Vasily became a popular local DJ soon after moving here from Russia in 2001 and utilized his experience producing multifarious styles of electronic music to begin writing psytrance in 2004. He's released tracks made with Jeto as Jetlux and will treat us to a debut live performance of his pounding groovy music.

The event will be from 8pm to 4pm at an easily accessible private location in the Mojave desert three hours north of Los Angeles and seven hours south of San Francisco. I encourage you to share rides and come early to set up camp before sunset. In autumn the weather won't get hotter than 80 degrees so is perfect for dancing all day and a large fire will keep us warm through the night. Please be sure to bring plenty of your own supplies and containers to take everything back with you.

Tickets are $20 until October 31 then $25 at the location.

to join us for what should be a beautifully dark and chilly night under
the stars. It will be a New Moon and the Milky Way will shine bright
as we follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and create an authentic
trance dance experience.

Camping is strongly recommended and their shouldn't be any campfire
restrictions. We encourage everyone in attendance to bring things to
add to the experience and atmosphere. Fire Poi, tapestries and other
decorations, firewood, food and beverage are just a few ideas.

This event is free to attend but it does cost money to make it happen.
Donations are greatly appreciated!

It's my great pleasure to present Naga Helix, an outdoor event in Northern California with 18 hours of psytrance from the renowned act Grapes Of Wrath and favorite local talent. Our Danish friends last visited the area three years ago and have only been to the country once since then so please take advantage of this rare chance to see them perform their incredible music live. The gathering will be in Belden, a resort town on the shores of the gorgeous Feather River Canyon alongside Highway 70. Camping and parking space is limited so please share tents and rides. Also make sure you bring swim gear to cool off and relax on the beach!

As the 30th is Naga Panchami (Festival of the Serpent) we are honoring these animals and all they embody. The snake's regenerative powers and waved motion symbolize the eternal spiraling of universal cosmic forces. Naga, the divine serpent, also represents the dormant Kundalini energy coiled at the base of our spines which rises through and activates the chakras as we awaken to full potential. This entwined nature is also seen within the double helix of DNA, the fundamental path of life we travel towards higher levels of consciousness.

**Things to Remember**
It’s summer and though we are in the NW, it’s a good idea to bring sun block and plenty of water. Shade structures will be provided, but additional contributions in that area are always appreciated.

As an album, it captures and delivers what a new generation of dancefloor stompers are looking for; Combining deep trancey elements and hard hitting breaks with more delicate psychedelic meanderings, Cameron has created a style, that although describable in terms of what’s out there, is it’s own entity and is as fresh on the ears as I’m sure it will be on the dance floor this summer. In quantum mechanics a ‘tangent universe’ is an offshoot of an existing universe that grows from the energy of the primary universe and in formation becomes a separate universe in its own right… the appearance of a tangent universe has many implications however primarily and positively it offers change, revolution and reflection on the status quo… in musical terms this album does the same.
A talented freelance programmer and mastering engineer, Cameron is part of a new wave of artist/DJ’s producing psychedelic dance and dub music under a number of different guises. Artist Profiles

Perpetual Loop is Organic Record’s latest catch, Charles Massey is a classically trained pianist and cellist, and has developed a very unique style of ambient/world/dub trance especially for Organic. Perpetual Loop has released previously on Rumour Records, and Organics first Psymeditation. His debut album “Universal Flow” will be released next on Organic Chill later this year.

Noodream is the chilled project by Darren Evans, manager of Dragonfly Records in their heyday. The Noodreem project resulted in well received tracks on the Mana Medicine compilation (Liquid Sound Design 2001), and on Interchills “Arcana” released earlier this year. Working as an engineer in a South London studio, Darren has teamed up with some reknown Indian Musicians and raised his production skills many notches to provide Organic with this very special treat.

Organic Substance is Chris Organics chill moniker and you can rest assured you will hear more coming from him in the future. His first chill release “Tribal Faith” has been released on several comps, and here he uses his reknown recording skills to give us a deep, solid groove overlaid with lush dreamscape sounds, plus sweet melodies and guitars from collaborator Pale Moon Rising. Chris is a qualified and experienced mastering engineer, mastering all of Organic Records releases his own patented 32-bit, 3-dimensional sonic manipulation technique.

Slackbaba is the work of Brighton-based producer Jonathan Smith. A familiar name at parties in London and around the UK, his music is at the forefront of the new wave of British psychedelic artists. His skills of sound manipulation and organic instrumentation present a new take on psychedelic electronica, combining quality production and skillful musicianship with an ability to cross genres tastefully. Jonny's debut album 'and the beat goes om', will be released on Liquid Records in May '06.

Nagual Sound Experiment (NSE) is the dub project of Brighton based electronica and roots producer DJ Cameron Leonard-Schroff aka psybreaks pioneer Mood Deluxe. After spending five years working as a music technology teacher at LACS and ICM and as a freelance engineer and programmer within the Los Angeles music industry, Cameron returns to the UK to begin his career as a recording artist with Liquid Records. 2006 will see the release of both the debut Mood Deluxe and NSE. His Sound Design has been used in commercials, film and multimedia gaming including credits from Discovery Channel, SciFi Channel, Disney, Inside Cinema, Nike and numerous indie films. Cameron has also recently completed his first feature length film score to a soon to be unleashed hi energy Japanese manga/ anime.

Unconscious Collective is the outlet for the non-trance output of OOOD and have performed live at Liquid Connective parties and the Glade festival, where their set included live drums, guitar, keyboards and three vocalists. In addition to their collaborative studio tracks with Ramsay, Steve, Ryo and Colin all write solo music under the UC banner. 'A New Way of Thinking' is Colin's experiment into the alternative composition techniques offered by an early beta version of AudioMulch, a modular composition and sound design environment developed by the Australian Ross Bencina (http://www.audiomulch.com). It was then mixed in Cubase where extra parts were also added, including the haunting piano melody at the end, which was recorded in one take."

Lemon Tree are a proudly British band; Paul Bacon was once part of a punk outfit featured on the John Peel show, now teamed up with Little River's recording engineer/ flamenco guitarist Mark Kingsley as atmospheric chill band Lemon Tree. They have released previously on Chris Organic's compilations on both Rumour Music and the first Psymeditation, a track on there so legendary it has had them as one of the most requested live chill bands on the festival circuit, including Sonica in Italy.

Ganja Beats is the dub offshoot of one of chill-out music’s crowned Princes, producer/artist/musician Jake Stephenson, also once known as Shamanic Tribes on Acid, one of the original uk psychedelic trance bands, also as Alien Mutation, Crystal Moon and Dr Psychedelic. His debut album ‘Ganja Beats’ released last year is still steadily selling copies today! Jake was involved in the psychedelic scene from the mid/late 80's primarily in the psych rock band paperhouse who were well known for their electrifying gigs. Processes for Securing Space?

Hi, maby someone can help me out, I'm interested in throwing outdoor camping psy events here in Western Mass this summer, there are two places in mind, one is an old sand pit (very playa esque?), and the other would be a venu that has held many camping concerts with bands and such in the past... how does one go about contacting the owners of the venue's or land without scaring them away with the regular "rave" problem..... what are key words to bring up, words to avoid.... I'm sure a land owner would really worry if you went to them saying "hey, we want to play slaming electronic music all night and have people camp out"

also, what are the legal things to think about, like, do you have to rent a cop?... liabilities? other stuff like that? if anyone has resources, or maby even form letters that they have used in the past... I'm sure each state is different, but I've definutly scared off many a warehouse owner with wanting to throw "all night dance parties"

anyway, just looking for suggestions

a great way to get your "outdoor party" on during the winter, but still have the snuggly, trippy, private areas all to your own inside tents that need no stakes... really a surreal invironment, i highly recommend it...
requires a big space, with room for tents, and dancefloor space. also common pillowarea is also a nice touch.
if anyone needs more info, let me know, weve done a couple such events here in asheville, NC to great response.
